Himfloor FC 450 P/FC 450 R

HIM

Epoxy resin floor coating with a very high dry solid contents

Uses

Himfloor FC450 R or P can be used indoors, because of the very lo solvent contents .Himfloor FC450 R or P provides a thin, coloured floor finish, with is specifically recommended for surfaces with foot traffic, light transport and forklift trucks.

Advantages

  • Durable-good resistance to abrasion
  • Non-porous surface
  • Good adhesion
  • Easy to apply and to maintain
  • Very low solvent contents, which allows the product to be applied indoors

Maintenance

The service life a floor can be considerably extended by good housekeeping .Regular cleaning may be carried out using a rotary scrubbing machine with a water miscible cleaning agent at temperatures up to 50°C. During the first 7 days the floor should not be cleaned with a water based cleaning agent.

Product description

Himfloor FC450 is a floor coating, based on epoxy, with a very high dry solid contents. There are two versions of Himfloor FC450.
The R-version is specially developed to seal sanded surfaces. It has excellent de-airing properties. The P-version is a rollable coating. The product can be used to seal the pores of epoxy mortars.
Himfloor FC450 R or P is supplied in 2 components after curing the product forms a durable coat, which has a good adhesion to all well prepared wooden, iron and concrete substrates.

Colours

Himfloor FC450 can be supplied in a wide range of RAL-colours. See the Himfloor colour chart.

Flooring system

As a paint:2 coats of Himfloor FC450 P
As a sealcoat : Himfloor FC450 R is used to seal the sanded substrate with a steel trowel or a rubber float .

Temperature limitations

Himfloor FC450 should not be applied at temperatures below 10°C, nor at a substrate temperature which is lower than the dew point temperature plus 3°C. The maximum application temperature is 35°C .The maximum relative humidity is 80%

Surface preparation

It is essential to thoroughly prepare the floor surface in order to achieve a Sound, clean and dry substrate, preferably by blasting. Substrates, contaminated by oil or grease, should be cleaned with suitable cleaning agents, followed by cleaning with lots of water. Allow the floor to dry for at least 48 hours.

Limitations

New cement based floors should be at least 28 days old and give a hygrometer reading not exceeding 5% (Protimeter).Vapour pressure may result in de-bonding of the finishing coat. It is essential to carry out the “rubber mat” test.Craks or movement in the substrate, may re-appear in the finish coat. Existing dilations should be repeated in the finish coat.

Primer

If required, a primer may be used, provided Himfloor FC450 R or P is applied within 24 hours.

Mixing

The pigmented base component (A) of Himfloor FC450 should be thoroughly homogenised before mixing it with the hardener component (B) .Mix further for at least 3 minutes .
The use of a heavy duty slow speed drill fitted with a mixing paddle is desirable.

Application

The mixed Himfloor FC450 should be applied to the prepared surface in 2 coats, using a roller, ensuring that the rolling takes place in straight lines and cross-wise. The second coat may be applied as soon as one can walk on the floor, but within 24 hours .The waiting time depends on the condition of substrate and surroundings. If the second coat is applied after more than 24 hours, the substrate should be prepared again.

Disposal

Disposal of spillage or empty packaging should be in accordance with local waste disposal regulation .
